Materials Ireland is a national commercial research and development organisation focusing on industrial materials technologies, particularly on the processing of industrial materials.

Materials Ireland provides a single point of access to materials expertise, while acting as a convenient interface between industry and the research expertise available in third level institutions, the Polymer Development Centre and in Technology Ireland.

As a Programme for Advanced Technology (PAT), initiated by the government to stimulate industrial development, Materials Ireland meets the needs of industry for expertise in materials technology and also by investing in its own strategically important, medium term R & D.
