EXPLORIS

Exploris is Northern Ireland's only public aquarium. The complex has excellent educational facilities including a marine laboratory with video microscopes, a Touch Tank and specialized professional staff. A Seal Recovery Pond is included on the site. Exploris is funded by Ards Borough Council and the European Development Fund with assistance from the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.

In its many display tanks, which show off the varied and exciting creatures that inhabit Strangford Lough and the Irish Sea, visitors get a fish-eye view of an underwater world which often comes as a surprise.

A cafe, gift shop, park with duck pond, picnic area, caravan site, woodland, tennis courts, and a bowling green are all available to visitors.
